WASTE MANAGEMENT SYMPOSIUM
The annual Waste Management Symposium is the radioactive material industry's premier event. If you are going to the upcoming meeting in Tucson, we hope to see you there. We'll be kick starting our anniversary festivities with birthday cake for everyone, during the exhibition's opening night (Sunday, Feb. 27). A number of our executives will be participating on panels, and we'll be displaying one of our new Shielded Multi-Use Type-A Containers (see item below) outside the convention hall.

FIRST USES OF NEW SHIELDED CONTAINERS
We recently introduced a Shielded Multi-Use Type-A Container and Transport System to transport radioactive materials. The top-loading, lead-lined container is designed for intermodal shipping, meaning that it can be transloaded between trucks, railcars and marine conveyance as needed between point-of-origin to final disposal site. Plus, they can be loaded using existing equipment and methods at nuclear power plants.

Projects

ABOVE THE ARCTIC: MOVING CONTAMINATED SOIL
Cape Lisburne, Alaska, is by any definition remote - an Air Force Base, a lot of caribou and not much else. MHF Packaging Solutions recently was involved in a project to remove 6,000 tons of PCB-contaminated soil as part of the remediation of a former radar station there.
