RICHARD SANTELLO NAMED PRESIDENT & CEO
“John Evanko rightfully has earned a reputation in our industry as a true pioneer,” Santello said. “Through his leadership, MHF-LS has been a remarkable success story. I’m honored to carry on his great work.” For our clients, business partners and vendors, it is business as usual. “We continue to be a customer-focused company, dedicated to helping our customers build and execute cost-effective and environmentally sound packaging and transportation solutions for nuclear, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, materials and byproducts,” Santello said. “We remain committed to the markets we serve now while continuing our ambitious expansion into new arenas.” Santello said he expects in the months ahead that the company will grow through both organic growth and acquisition, becoming more visible in industries such as mining, steel and primary metals, chemicals and petrochemicals, brownfields remediation, and water and wastewater treatment. Santello joined MHF-LS last year to head up sales. Earlier this year he was promoted to executive vice president, with operations, sales and marketing, and other functions reporting to him. Prior to joining MHF-LS, he was senior vice president for Clean Harbors, Inc., in Braintree, Mass., a $650 million-a-year provider of environmental and waste management services, where he managed its landfill group, large projects and distributor services. Previous positions include managing business development for Edward C. Levy Company, a Detroit-based recycler of construction materials and steel industry byproducts. In the 1990s, Santello worked for EnviroSource, Inc., based in Horsham, Pa., where he rose from a regional sales representative to senior vice president and division president. He led the company into several new waste management markets, including treatment of steel mill flue dust, and transportation and disposal of radioactive waste. Santello and wife Laurie recently celebrated their twentieth anniversary. The couple has three children, ages 16, 14 and 11. Santello’s pastimes include golf, working in his yard and fishing in Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay, in addition to active membership in his church. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rhode Island. And he certainly takes his new post with high praise. Said company founder and former CEO Evanko, “Rich Santello is a man of vision and action and has the leadership skills to continue MHF-LS’ growth and expansion, and I have every confidence that the company is in good hands moving forward.” You can reach Rich Santello at 724.772.9800 or via e-mail at rich_santello@mhfls.com. |
